Dollhouse 2x12
Jan. 16th, 2010 09:21 pmOK. Penultimate episode of Dollhouse.
It was... uh... emotional, wrenching, heartbreaking, and with a hefty dose of WTF.
( Spoilers )
In conclusion:
DAMN YOU, WHEDONNNNN!
(After the ep finished, I was SHAKING, physically shaking. And had to take a time-out to get my head together.)

Jan. 9th, 2010 06:20 pmWell. It's been snowing here for most of the week. It's cold. There's not a whole lot to do other than catch up on TV (and YAY, stuff is actually back post-Xmas).
Thus, today's efforts:

I just realised something...
Dec. 16th, 2009 11:58 pmUm, you know in the Doctor Who episode "Journey's End"?
Well, this might be just because I was just watching Dollhouse, but it occurred to me that the memory-wiping thing that the Doctor did to stop Donna's brain from going *asplode* was... kind of similar to the way Actives get wiped. Not in the method, obviously... but in the effect on the brain, if that makes sense.
It just makes me wonder, because Dollhouse is at the point where certain Actives (or one in particular, anyway) are retaining memories *after* being wiped. But then, none of them were involved in any metacrises.
I don't know. It's too late for this kind of thinking, I'm going to bed.
(PS. It's bad that I think Alpha's kinda hot, right? That's got to be a bad thing...)

Dollhouse 2x03
Oct. 12th, 2009 06:17 pmDUDE. SOMEHOW, COLONEL TIGH'S IN DOLLHOUSE.
.... wait, why am I surprised? We've already had Jamie Bamber and Mark Sheppard, and Tahmoh Penikett's a main character... what's one more?
(Seriously, Dollhouse is becoming BSG-alumni-central. Also, Buffyverse-alumni-central, what with Eliza Dushku, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof and Felicia Day, but that's *obvious*, because it's kinda what Joss does.)
Also, in a rather scary moment, it transpires that there are, in fact, situations that make Topher ethically concerned. Because apparently, he's OK with the wiping and the programming and the it's-basically-slavery-but-we-don't-call-it-that, but he has issues with providing medical treatment to serial killers. (...actually, that does make sense. never mind.)

Dollhouse 2x01
Sep. 26th, 2009 12:11 pmOK, my reaction to this episode... mostly consisted of OMGSQUEE and WAIT... WHAT?!, for a variety of reasons...
( SPOILERS )
Also, this has nothing to do with the episode... but I've come to the conclusion that if Paul had a daemon, it'd be a terrier. Also, Boyd's is a German Shepherd, Topher's may or may not be some kind of monkey, and I'm leaning towards a nightingale for Adelle. (Look, deciding what daemons characters would have is... just this thing I do. Helps me understand them better.)

( Epitaph One Spoilers )
So, in conclusion, damn you, Joss Whedon, for giving me all these questions and only part of the answers.
Season 2 now, please?

Dollhouse 1x11
May. 8th, 2009 08:02 pmFirst reaction: HOLY SHIT DUDE.
Also:
1.I want a buddy movie or a road movie or something with Tahmoh Penikett and Alan Tudyk as completely mismatched partners. If Tahmoh's character is a tough FBI agent, so much the better.
2. I... I think I ship Alpha/Echo...
3. When people hurt Topher, I get mad, apparently.
4. *commences glaring hard at Fox*

Victor had a 'man reaction', did he?
Mar. 15th, 2009 07:11 pmI'm loving Dollhouse at the moment. This week, say, was good because a) Boyd was all cool and badass and b) Agent Helo Ballard is awesome and c) those two scenes of Topher and Doc Saunders.
I swear, Joss ships those two. There'd better be some kind of (probably very hesitant) romance-y type of stuff at some point.
(I think there will be. Having seen all Joss's other shows, I think I have a pretty good idea of how he sets up relationships.
In other words, just look at Kaylee and Simon. Or Wes and Fred.)
Also those scenes were rather funny.
In a completely unrelated note...
When I went to see Watchmen recently, they showed the Star Trek trailer beforehand. And you know, I think that movie might actually make me a fan.
(I should point out that until now, all I knew was from watching occasional episodes as a kid.)
Also, based purely on the trailer, I think I see why the Kirk/Spock ship exists.

So, I had this random thought earlier. On BSG, someone (I forget who) said that all the Eight-cylons are crazy. And in the movie Kill Bill, there's a Japanese gang-type-thing called the "Crazy 88s"...
...which made me picture a yakuza-style gang of 88 Eights/Sharons/whatever you want to call them.
(Ah, random connections. Fun.)
On a vaguely related note.... finally saw "Blood on the Scales" today.
I'm still a bit in shock... might be able to manage intelligible comment later.
On a not-related-at-all note... Dollhouse is great.
And I think I ship Topher/Claire. Which is.... random. Also I really want to write fic for them.
('cause, y'know... Amy Acker... and also Topher's just awesome. *nodnod*)
