I'm not going to hide it.

Part 2 of "The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith" totally made me cry.

Also... did anyone else notice that Clyde was wearing a brown pinstriped suit and cream-coloured Converse? That outfit sound... familiar?

(The Doctor, though, has acquired himself a replacement Blue Suit. Which is an interesting choice on his part...)

Finally: I am really, majorly impressed with Rani right now.

I sense there may be fic. Possibly. (Probably after November, tbh, because NaNoWriMo is upon us, and... well. Yeah. I didn't even have a choice, really.)

In an Entirely Unrelated Note, I caught up on yesterday's Merlin.

DING DONG, THE WITCHTROLL IS DEAD.

(Yep, they're still trying to kill me with subtext. GAHHHH. I found a solution though. It's to just keep looking at Arthur, because damn, Bradley James is attractive.)

Um... watched a few TV shows the last few days, can't really be bothered to do separate posts for them.

Spoilers for Eastwick, FlashForward, Merlin, and Dollhouse )

Was watching this week's Merlin just now.

It transpires that Morgana has magic now. This is all kinds of NOT GOOD, because I know my Arthurian legend and I'm quite afraid that the name Morgan le Fay might be in Morgana's future. Which would be a shame, because I quite like her.

Also, a creepy little kid called Mordred - yes, Mordred - showed up. which is also many kinds of not good.

This is not to say that this was a bad ep. It wasn't. But I would quite like it if they could stop trying to kill me with subtext here. (OH MY GOD, THE ARTHUR/MERLIN SUBTEXT.) The crazy thing is that this is supposed to be the season when Arthur starts noticing Gwen... so yeah, IDK.

And the trailer for next week - I think there was Lancelot involved, so YAY, but there was also an... animal of some kind. All I know is that it made me go WTF IS THAT when I saw it.

I was watching the new episode of Merlin today, and you know, that show has the most incredible levels of subtext... mostly Arthur/Merlin subtext...

I've also watched the Lancelot episode, because, well, Santiago Cabrera, duh... and now I quite want him to come back and be a regular so that I can ship him with Gwen.

(Hey, Lancelot/Guinevere(Gwen) has been around for... several hundred years. It's totally a valid choice.)

Spoilers ahead.

I'm not ashamed to say it....

...the moment I heard that Eve Myles was in the first episode of this show, I decided to watch it*. yes, I'm really that desperate for anything Torchwood-related at the moment And I wasn't let down, because she was great. I'd also like to complement the make-up staff for the "old" make-up she wears periodically throughout the episode. So, props to them.

(The SFX guys get props too, for the Dragon. Good job all round.)

Now. Merlin. I hadn't heard of the kid playing him, but he does a good job of wide-eyed and clueless as well as his moments of bravery and standing up to Arthur. His magical ability I thought was well-handled, showing it as something that's instinctive to him, though he doesn't understand it and is understandably scared by it. There are some moments when he uses (if that's the right word) his ability to help people(read: make Arthur look like more of a prat) which were particularly good.

Arthur, now, surprised me. Because he's a jerk. Arrogant, brash, rude, you name it. The announcement of Merlin becoming his manservant was a little predictable, but it does promise plenty of strife (because at this stage they really don't like each other). I suspect that we'll soon be seeing Merlin/Arthur slash, too.

The girls, Morgana and Guinevere/Gwen. Perfectly good, in both cases. Gwen might get a little irritating as the series progresses, but Morgana promises to make up for it.

(Yep, I'm waiting for Morgana to become a sorceress and turn into Morgan le Fay like she's supposed to.)

Uther. Suitably mean and tyrant-shaped, but apparently has a heart in there somewhere as well. Although, honestly, Tony Head can do no wrong in my world, so it doesn't actually matter how he plays the character.

The Dragon. Good graphics, good characterisation. Also, voiced by John Hurt, which almost guarantees Awesome around my part of the 'verse.

OVERALL: A promising start, good performances, decent scripting. Better-made than Bonekickers, which can only be a good thing. All in all, should be a good stand-in for Doctor Who until that comes back.

Oh, and did I mention that EVE MYLES IS AMAZING!!!

*Well, I am kind of an Arthurian-legend fangirl, so I would have watched without Eve. But she clinched the deal for me.
