Had this thought today...

you know what would be cool?

If someone on Glee sang this:

Personally, and don't ask me why because I'm not exactly sure, I think it ought to be Finn. I'm not particularly musical myself but I'd say he has the right sort of voice for it... but it'd probably work with Kurt too.

I picked up a Firefly prompt at [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic, and the resulting fic is a) two pages and threatening to be multi-chapter and b) turning into a Fringe crossover.

Also, and I have no idea why, but I've had the theme song from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in my head for DAYS, GODSDAMMIT, DAYS.

I haven't watched that show for YEARS. Why now?! GAHHH.

(Um. I have two [livejournal.com profile] reel_torchwood fics to finish. AHHHH. And new plotbunnies just won't leave me alone. AHHHH.)

Had this idea at work re: Ashes to Ashes. See, the series (and LoM) are kind of irrevocably linked to David Bowie's music for me. So my idea was to basically write a short fic (100 words minimum) per song. I'm calling it Project Bowie, and I have at least two fics planned already. :D

I read somewhere (it may have been TVTropes - which I will *not* link to) that JJ Abrams had said at some point that his shows are all in the same universe. Now I can see perfectly how that works with LOST and Fringe, which mostly comes down to a very clear mental image of Walter Bishop working for/with the DHARMA initiative (just don't ask, k?).

What I'm wondering is... does that apply to *all* his work?

The Alternate Reality Star Trek of the movie last year, I can see that fitting in, just 200 or so years down the line... but what I'm stuck on is Felicity. Of which I've seen one and a half episodes.

(look, it has Keri Russell. It's... Keri Russell. Incidentally, this is all because of Waitress. Which is awesome, and has KR in, and Nathan Fillion (bonus!).

On the subject of random tv shows.... anyone seen Human Target? It's pretty cool. Basically it's about this private security guy who gets hired to protect people, blah blah, and saves the day a lot in various implausible situations. Also, the three main characters are played by Mark Valley, Chi McBride and Jackie Earle Haley.

Yes, JEH was what got me interested. On the other hand, I got over my Fringe-related problem with Mark Valley. Now I can look at him without glaring.

The other thing about Human Target is... the guest stars. I've seen five episodes so far, and they've had... Tricia Helfer, Alessandro Juliani and Donnelly Rhodes from BSG, Sean Maher from Firefly and William Mapother from LOST. When you add MV and JEH to that (Fringe and Watchmen respectively)... it does make one think that the casting people are going out of their way to cast sci-fi actors.

Anyway. It is late, and I'm tired, thus I am going to bed before any more random thoughts occur to me.

So, apparently there's this LJ glitch going around where comment reply notification emails get duplicated. A lot.

It's rather irritating. I mean, the same thing eleven times over, come on. And just now my inbox had THIRTY-THREE emails and there were only three emails worth of content.

Thus I am going to go to bed, before I succumb to the urge to punch a wall somewhere.

(Also, in the most recent Bones episode, there were a couple of moments when Booth suddenly started being... Castiel-like. It was weird. Supernatural is taking over EVERYTHING, guys.)

This week I saw three fandom-y things (well, two definite and one that was just my interpretation...), at three different times.

#1 was a guy in a t-shirt that said "I aim to misbehave"

#2 was a second guy in a t-shirt with the helix-y thing from Heroes on/

#3 was a guy wearing the same tweed jacket that Matt Smith's been wearing for his Eleventh Doctor costume.

Each of those made me go *squee* a bit.

On the flip side, today I was walking past a pedestrian crossing - on a side street, not a road where traffic moves particularly fast - when a couple and their two kids were crossing, and the asshole in the nearest car basically didn't stop at the crossing to let them pass. And fyi, there was nothing stopping him from seeing them, and it's a zebra crossing that gets used frequently, so he ought to known better.

The mother of the kids gave him a good yelling-at, though. (No-one was hurt - but they could easily have been.) Gods, there are some self-centred idiots in this world.

So, I had this random thought earlier. On BSG, someone (I forget who) said that all the Eight-cylons are crazy. And in the movie Kill Bill, there's a Japanese gang-type-thing called the "Crazy 88s"...

...which made me picture a yakuza-style gang of 88 Eights/Sharons/whatever you want to call them.

(Ah, random connections. Fun.)

On a vaguely related note.... finally saw "Blood on the Scales" today.

I'm still a bit in shock... might be able to manage intelligible comment later.

On a not-related-at-all note... Dollhouse is great.

And I think I ship Topher/Claire. Which is.... random. Also I really want to write fic for them.

('cause, y'know... Amy Acker... and also Topher's just awesome. *nodnod*)
