So, Season Five starts airing in the US tonight, which means I'll get to see it tomorrow.

I. AM. SO. RIDICULOUSLY. EXCITED.

(and not just because of a certain someone playing a certain fallen angel...)

I just...

I have this feeling that this season is going to be absolutely amazing.

Also, I hope Chuck gets a decent part. Because Chuck is awesome.

To get us into the apocalyptic mood, have some T.S. Eliot:

Not with a bang, but with a whimper.

Title: Ineffability
Fandoms: Good Omens, Supernatural
Characters: Sam, Dean, Adam, Aziraphale, Crowley, Castiel (briefly).
Rating: G
Prompt: Good Omens/Supernatural, author's choice/author's choice, ineffability at [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic.
Spoilers: The end of GO. Familiarity with the current season of Supernatural would help, too.
Disclaimer: Not mine, not mine. Just playing in the apocalyptic sandbox.
Summary: Sam and Dean are sent to England to meet a boy who might be able to help them stop Lilith.
A/N: I did play with the timelines a little... technically, in the current season of Supernatural Adam would be 21. But there was more shock factor for the Winchesters if he was a teenager, so... yeah.

Slightly related point:

A fic I wrote for a [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic prompt has slightly taken over my brain, and I've now got a Supernatural/BtVS crossover in the works. At the moment it's probably going to follow S4 plotwise, only with added BtVS. And Dawn. Definitely Dawn.

Title: It's Like Looking In A Mirror, Only Not.
Fandom: Supernatural.
Prompt: SPN, Dean/Sam, Brit!Dean/Brit!Sam, "Um...what just happened?", at [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic
Word Count: 1004
Warnings: Little bit of swearing.
Disclaimer: Supernatural is Eric Kripke's. Fix isn't mine either.
A/N: Er, yeah... well. This is a bit weird. Understandably. This is what a 1967 Jaguar looks like. The character Fix, who gets a brief mention, is also not mine - I borrowed him from the Mike Carey book "Dead Men's Boots".

Also, apparently my Muse thinks that Dean, if he was British, would be quite a lot like one John Constantine. I really don't know what to say to that.

I just saw an icon that said "the angels have the phone box".

I know where that's from. I know it's from "Blink".

My problem is that now I kind of want to write DW/Supernatural crossover fic, involving that phrase at some point. I have no idea what it would be about, though. Godsdamn overactive imagination.

Meanwhile, I'm watching Howl's Moving Castle, which is fantastic btw... and is it wrong to fancy an animated character this much? Because Howl... well. *ahem*

Chapter Two )
trillianastra: (the icon of rassilon)
The story behind this fic is... well, it started out as two smaller fics, actually... I was thinking about crossover 'ships after reading a Sam Winchester/River Tam oneshot, and that started me thinking that it was an interesting pairing... oh, and Dawn Summers got mixed into there somewhere, though I'm not sure how. The other fic idea was a Heroes/Torchwood fic, looking what might happen if Claire Bennet a) was still around in 500 years and b) met Jack Harkness somewhere along the way.

Then I realised that the two ideas could potentially make one fic, and that's basically where Broken Toy Soldiers came from. (The title will make sense eventually, I promise!)

Title: Broken Toy Soldiers
Author: Trillianastra
Fandom: Firefly/Supernatural/Heroes/BtVS/Torchwood (Firefly 'verse)
Characters: River Tam, Sam Winchester, Claire Bennet, Dawn Summers, Jack Harkness, various other Firefly characters.
Rating: This chapter PG13. Later chapters may be higher.
Disclaimer: Joss Whedon, Eric Kripke, Tim Kring and Russell T Davies own 'em. I'm just playing in the sandbox.
NOTE: This is AU with respect to Supernatural Season 4, BtVS Season 6, and anything after Heroes 3x10. This fic takes place post-"Objects in Space" for Firefly.

So... what do you think? Like? Hate? Worth continuing?

Found a link to this while reading tvtropes.org.

It may actually be the best thing ever in the history of everything.

trillianastra: (sneakin up on ur demonz)
Ok, so in my continuing quest to catch up on two seasons of Supernatural while watching season four at the same time, I've got to the point where I've almost finished season two.

Today's eps (so far...) have been "Roadkill", which was saaaaad and also I went OMG THAT'S NUMBER SIX when I saw Tricia Helfer. Then there was "Heart", which was sad for Sam, 'cause the girl he liked was a werewolf and had to die. Even if I totally called the "she's the werewolf" way before it was actually revealed.

And then... "Hollywood Blues". Ahhh, yes.

Two things, really. a) When Sam'n'Dean were on this Hollywood tour thing, one of the places the tour went past was the Stars Hollow set from Gilmore Girls. Which Jared Padalecki was in.

b) Dean, impersonating a PA. Oh, rassilon, that was hilarious. Also, someone needs to put Dean and Tony DiNozzo from NCIS together to see who knows the most random stuff about movies.

In short: Ohhh, I love this show.
trillianastra: (sam tyler head!cortina)
Feeling kind of strange today. Maybe because the clocks have gone back, so it's now actually *dark* at 6 in the evening (come back, British Summer Time! Please come back!). I don't know.

Whatever's caused it, my world's become this... mix of Supernatural and BSG and Doctor Who... it's like I spend my free time in the company of either Sam'n'Dean or one of the Doctor's incarnations (current obsession: Four), or the myriad cast of BSG...

and in between that, I have my two Rewrite projects to get on with... and NaNoWriMo starting next week...

I don't know. My head's in a weird place today. Probably I'll start the New Job tomorrow and everything will look better. For tonight I shall continue being weird and drinking too much coffee.

(Considering uh, "borrowing" an alternative counting style thing from my friend [livejournal.com profile] missfuneralsong. Anyways...)

A number of good things have been happening recently.

Hartnell

I HAVE A JOB. STARTING ON MONDAY. A good job. That pays good money (srsly, it's like £400 a week, which is awesome).

Troughton

Went shopping with Mum today, for New Work Clothes. Which means.... I now own an actual suit, for the first time in my life. (Yes, I made it to 22 without needing a suit. Ehhh...)

Pertwee

Got my hair cut for the first time in... many, many moons. So now it's a bob, rather than the... uncontrollable mess... that it was this morning. (If I had a webcam, I'd be able to show y'all. But I don't. :( )

Baker

Supernatural.

I'd seen a few eps here and there before this week... I'm finally starting to watch it *properly* and it's awesome. So many awesome characters, I don't know what to do with myself. Also, Castiel. *sigh*. (PS. I may have a new crack!OTP for this show.... *drumroll*.... Dean/Impala! Is good, y/y?)

Davison

Writing stuff... well, current project-wise, I've got my Twilight Rewrite, which at least one person likes so far, so woo! me. Also I started my rewrite-harry-potter-from-a-non-gryffindor-perspective idea. Haven't posted any of that yet, though, partly because there's not enough to post. Heh.

Baker2

RPs. Dude, I have too many of these. But people keep making new ones that look really awesome, and I keep joining them. And I always say to myself that I'll just take one or two characters, and then I end up with about six. *sigh*

McCoy

Speaking of RPs....

check this out: http://toniscrackrp.proboards.com/index.cgi

It's kind of a reincarnation of a LOST RP we had on the Fuselage ages ago, only this version has characters from other shows too. And when it starts, it will be awesome.

I think that's it.

Peace out, dudes.

Well, in my own way I am actually around to catching up with Supernatural.

I have just seen "Everybody Loves A Clown". First, Clowns are scary. Second, Ellen and Jo are sorta... awesome.

Third:

ASH.

Ash is just... whoa... um... awesome. With the hair.. and the accent... and the obvious smarts... and the LAPTOP THAT HE BUILT HIMSELF.

I mean, dude, that puts him very high on the Awesome list for me.
trillianastra: (castiel no fluffy cherub)
This could be just a coincidence, but I've noticed something about Castiel on Supernatural.

The gentleman in my icon for this post is Castiel.

The gentleman in this picture is John Constantine (that's the real one, from the Hellblazer comics, not the movie one).

He and Castiel show some... similarities.

They're a similar height and build, and they are both seen in outfits that include a white shirt, a loosened black tie and a tan-coloured trenchcoat.

Now, this could be a coincidence. In fact, it probably is a coincidence. But part of me would like to think that someone who works on Supernatural is a Hellblazer fan and made Castiel look like that as a homage or something.

Finally, I think that should anyone decide to do a proper Hellblazer movie, all we'd need to do is make Misha Collins blond and get him to do an English accent and he'd be perfect.

(Anyone who wants to know more about John Constantine, his Wiki page is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Constantine#Real-life_appearances

ETA I have just read on Wikipedia that Castiel is, in fact, "heavily influenced" by the character of John Constantine.

(score one for me!)

Um. Oops?

I couldn't stop myself... I tried, I told myself that I should finish seasons 1, 2 and 3 of Supernatural first... but I couldn't resist.

So I watched the first ep of Season 4 (and I can just hear a certain someone going "Noooo you have to watch the others first!").

Um.

CASTIEL.

I think I am going to have to try very, very hard not to start crushing on a certain angel.

So... ya...

I'm just going to go watch more Supernatural now.

*slinks away to her corner*

Hee. WOO SAM.

BOOMER. BOOMER IS AWESOME.

HIROOOOOOOOOOOOO!

TOSH. This is one of the ones I predicted before I even started.

Erm... okay then...

Skinner? Srsly? huh.

....and that would be the other one I predicted before even taking the test.

Um. Yeah... don't know what to say to that one, really.

Uh. Interesting variety there....

Ok, so my friend Toni really likes the show Supernatural. I've seen a few episodes before today and what I've seen was pretty good. So when I heard that the current season (four) was shaping up to be really, really good, I decided to give it another go.

I've seen the first few episodes of season one already, so I went for starting with season 3. The first episode was good (even though I spent a good ten minutes staring and repeating "It's Lisa the Cyberwoman from Torchwood" to myself). The second episode (that's "The Kids Are All Right") was even better.

Reasoning:
1. Dean's ex's kid. Who I will continue calling MiniDean, because that kid is WAY too much like him for it to be a coincidence. And how many eight-year-olds do you know who listen to AC/DC?
2. The demon/Hunter/whoever the hell she is who keeps showing up wanting to help Sam. Until the "she's a demon" thing she kept reminding me of Elle from Heroes...
3. The changelings. a) generally speaking an imaginative way to handle an old idea and b) THE KIDS. OH MY GOD THE KIDS.

See, ever since the Doctor Who ep "The Empty Child", children speaking in monotone voices and asking for their mummy has been a little... terrifying... for me. So yeah. And when one of the changelings is trying to break down a door to get to its "mummy"? Didn't make the comparison go away.

So yeah. Supernatural. Amazing show. Definitely going to keep watching (and I will go back and check out the rest of the earlier seasons as well).
