...would be a Doctor Who fanfic that, in some currently-undefined way, involved the characters of the commedia dell'arte, which I've been reading about on Wiki.

I think the fact that two of the traditional commedia characters are "Il Dottore" (the Doctor) and "Il Capitano" (the Captain) might have something to do with it.

(Il Dottore makes me think William Hartnell, and Il Capitano... yeah, very much making me think Jack at this point.)

Unfortunately, this all hits a slight snag when we get to the realisation that I have absolutely no idea what the *plot* would be. And without a plot I'm a bit screwed, really.

....so, if anyone's got any ideas on the subject, I'd be really interested to hear them.

{As an unrelated note... I almost literally can't stop listening to the "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" album. It's awesome. And yes, when the book is out I am TOTALLY getting it.)

A fic I wrote for a

comment_fic prompt has slightly taken over my brain, and I've now got a Supernatural/BtVS crossover in the works. At the moment it's probably going to follow S4 plotwise, only with added BtVS. And Dawn. Definitely Dawn.

I just saw an icon that said "the angels have the phone box".

I know where that's from. I know it's from "Blink".

My problem is that now I kind of want to write DW/Supernatural crossover fic, involving that phrase at some point. I have no idea what it would be about, though. Godsdamn overactive imagination.

Meanwhile, I'm watching Howl's Moving Castle, which is fantastic btw... and is it wrong to fancy an animated character this much? Because Howl... well. *ahem*

The story behind this fic is... well, it started out as two smaller fics, actually... I was thinking about crossover 'ships after reading a Sam Winchester/River Tam oneshot, and that started me thinking that it was an interesting pairing... oh, and Dawn Summers got mixed into there somewhere, though I'm not sure how. The other fic idea was a Heroes/Torchwood fic, looking what might happen if Claire Bennet a) was still around in 500 years and b) met Jack Harkness somewhere along the way.

Then I realised that the two ideas could potentially make one fic, and that's basically where Broken Toy Soldiers came from. (The title will make sense eventually, I promise!)

I had the most awesome idea for a fic at work today. I'm pretty sure I could pull it off, too, seeing as it involves crossing over two things I'm obsessed with.

The gist is, we take the plot and basic idea of Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and exchange the actual characters (Billy, Captain Hammer, Penny, all those randoms) with Doctor Who characters. And it would be silly and cracky and (hopefully) half-way funny.

As for casting...

Billy/Dr Horrible has got to be the Tenth Doctor. Partly because I can totally see DT doing the geek bits and the badass bits.

Penny is Rose, naturally. (I briefly considered Martha, but Rose fits better.)

As for Captain Hammer... I knew straight away who he would be "played" by. It's just got to be Jack, you know?

EDIT: Moist will be played by Mickey. Now I think about it, that one seems so obvious...

The randoms (the Hammer fangirls, etc)... well, the Hammer fangirls can be Gwen, Martha and (fanboy) Ianto. Anyone else will be played by random Companions.

And the Evil League of Evil... hmm, maybe have a Dalek, a Cyberman, a Sontaran... various Who villains, basically. And Bad Horse would be (represented by) the Master.

...

I think it'd be funny, anyway.
