Easy.

Olivia Dunham, Fringe.

(if anyone needs convincing... watch Brown Betty, in season 2. Best. Episode. Ever.)

A very close second would be Teresa Lisbon (The Mentalist).

Book-wise... erm, does Alexia Tarabotti (Soulless, Changeless, Blameless) count? She's not really a detective, but she... investigates stuff. She's third, btw.

So... just because I felt like it, I grabbed a few lonely Glee prompts from [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic. Not sure why, I just had the urge to write Gleefic. Anyway, results are below.

Prompt:Unrequited from Kurt's POV - a daydream

ANYWAY.

What with the fact that Ashes to Ashes is over, and Lost finishes next week, and Flashforward just got cancelled... I'm sort of running out of TV shows that make me go WAAAAIT, WHAT JUST HAPPENED???

Therefore, because I seem to need one or two shows like that for some reason, I've started catching up on Fringe. (I stopped watching after 2x02 for a while... not really sure why at this point but I guess something else caught my attention.)

I just watched three episodes in a row, and I've realised that I might be giving myself some serious Nightmare Fuel by marathoning this. Oh well. It's worth it. Even if I don't sleep too well tonight....

Also, I find myself having highly, highly inappropriate thoughts about Walter Bishop. And I don't know how to stop. DAMMIT.

Title: Earth-That-Is
Fandoms: Firefly, Fringe
Characters: Firefly crew, Olivia Dunham, Peter Bishop.
Prompt: Firefly, Crew, they somehow end up on Earth That Was (for [livejournal.com profile] dragonbetween at [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic)
Warnings: None
Spoilers: Post-BDM for Firefly, but no spoilers.
A/N: Um. This started as a straight Firefly fic.... then the Fringe characters decided they wanted in. Ah well.

Found out today that the Fringe S1 DVD is out September 28th over here. (A cause for MUCH celebration, because streaming links apparently hate me)

Now, Fringe is awesome. I think it is actually one of my favourite shows now. I'm even starting to get over my absolute terror of Lance Reddick. And of course it's got all the funky paranormal stuff that makes me go OOOH HOW'D THEY DO THAT, but in a smart way, not a dumb way. Kinda like the X-Files, but different, because Mulder and Scully never had Walter Bishop on their side.

well, mostly on their side, when he remembers who/where/when he is, what he's doing and why he's doing it

ANYWAY. I'm a bit... fascinated by Walter. I want to hug him a lot. And his voice is just... mmmmmmmm...

Everyone else is awesome too though. Peter's fantastic, and Astrid, and I have an almost unhealthy attachment to Charlie, and Olivia made it to my Favourite Characters list so fast that I'm now calling her Livy, as an endearment type of thing.

And then there's the S1 finale.

So I finally started watching Fringe.

Actually...

oh, hell, I love it. It's like the X-Files but with fewer aliens and marginally more "WHAT the FRAK did he just DO?"

also... Lance Reddick still scares me (I can't help it, I swear), I think (no, I KNOW) I have a crush on Joshua Jackson of all people, and then there's Walter Bishop.

I don't know how I feel about him yet. He's... complex, and that's putting it lightly.

Finally: I just had this idea that Fringe/Dollhouse fic might possibly work quite well. Hell, Walter probably helped with building the imprint-chair-thing on Dollhouse ANYWAY, it's totally the kind of thing he'd have done before St Claire's.
