So... felt like watching some Classic Who today... in the end, went with Arc of Infinity because I haven't seen any Five for a while.

And it's a good episode, too. Even with Colin Baker as Commander Maxil, or as I call him "Proto-Terrifying-Six".

Problem is, godsdamnit this Castellan guy is strangely attractive. And that's with the funny hats that Time Lord High Council members apparently have to wear.

So I was in the library yesterday.... and completely by accident I found what may, actually, be the best Doctor Who book ever. It's called Doctor Who: The Legend Continues, and the author is Justin Richards.

Basically, it goes through the serials of each Doctor, in order, talking about the episodes, the actors, the effects... all kinds of stuff.

I've also found two otherwise unimportant facts (so far).

The first is that, of all the Fifth Doctor serials, Black Orchid got the highest rating with 10 million viewers. (This is good... I like Black Orchid a lot, which may have something to do with The Bathrobe... *ahem*)

The second is that in a Second Doctor serial involving the Land of Fiction, there is a writer character who wrote a serialised story called "The Adventures of Captain Jack Harkaway".

That's... probably a coincidence. But I think it's pretty cool anyway.

It has been brought to my attention that of all the Doctor Who fanfic out there, most is focused on the Ninth and Tenth Doctors.

To address this, I bring you... a Fifth Doctor story!

Title: Cricket on the Beach.
Characters: Five, Tegan, Nyssa, Adric. Some local children make an appearance as well.
Genre: 'tis fluff.
Spoilers: Nope.
Rating: G.
Warnings: None.
Comments: See if you can figure out who the oldest kid is!

This way to the Story... )
