Er.

OK. Part of me just wants to curl up in a ball and cry, still. This is probably not going to be in any sort of sensible order.

Um. Time Lords are bastards.

Possibly, insane bastards, after the Time War.

(The Doctor and the Master are exempt from this, not because they're not crazy - I think they might well be - but because I like them. Yeah, the Master too.)

Anyway, yeah, me no likey Time Lords. Even the fact that James Bond is now, officially, a TL is not helping with that... and while I'm on that subject, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ROMANA? Last I checked, the Lord President during the Time War was Romana. Not some other guy. GRRRR.

Oh look, a strange planet in the sky. WE DID THIS LAST TIME, RUSTY.

Wow, the amount of Doctor/Master OTPness was STAGGERING in this. AND the Master got a bit of a redemption scene (sorta) when he force-lightning'd the Lord High Asshole President.

And that thing where the drums in the Master's head was a signal that the TLs sent back in time as a signal to get themselves out of the timelock? Like I said. BASTARDS. (I wonder, did Rusty KNOW what the drums were back in "Utopia" when we met Professor Yana, or was he making stuff up on the fly?)

WILF. I love him. He's awesome.

(Mysterious-Lady-In-White who is apparently a TL as well: I think she's the Doctor's mother. POSSIBLY.)

THE END:

WAIT WAIT WTF SINCE WHEN WERE MARTHA AND MICKEY THE IDIOT TOGETHER?

I mean, I know there was that line in CofE where Gwen said Martha was on her honeymoon... but wasn't she with Tom? When did this Mickey development happen?

OTOH, they ARE being badass and fighting aliens together. Which is good, after what happened to Torchwood.

LUKE SMITH, LEARN TO LOOK BOTH WAYS BEFORE CROSSING THE ROAD. Sarah Jane still looks gorgeous.

OH LOOK, JACK'S IN A BAR. With aliens. So, his soul-searching, finding himself thing is basically one big interplanetary pub crawl, y/y? And, oh, hey there Midshipman Frame. Long time no see. Have fun with Jack, OK?

(at Donna's second wedding, was anyone else looking out for Racnoss?)

The bit with Joan's granddaughter made me cry, too.

THE REGENERATION:

I don't have much to say about this.

Eleven seems like he's going to be awesome. HE SAID "GERONIMO". And thought he'd regenerated into a girl, 'cause of the longer hair. And there was a "still not ginger!" too.

Mostly, though, and I can't really explain why but the bit I like most was on the credits. Just seven words:

"And introducing MATT SMITH as The Doctor"

ROLL ON SEASON FIVE, PEOPLE!!

I cried a lot. Not liking the time lords either. Mickey/Martha would be kick-ass but wonder what happened to Tom? Think RTD was being a bit self-serving but now it's in Steven Moffat's hands I think we can expect good things.
