trillianastra: (more disguise stuff)
So there's this BBC drama from back in 2005 called State of Play. (It's getting the Hollywood treatment soon, but that's not the issue)

The main character in said drama are played by David Morrissey and John Simm. And well... that made it pretty certain I was going to like it, because DM and JS are both Awesome (and that's with the capital A).

The thing is, now that I'm actually watching it (and it lives up to the hype, by the way), I think I kind of, maybe, ship them. A little. Sort of... or I would, if I could figure out whether I'm shipping their SoP characters, or Simm!Master/Jackson Lake, or Ripley Holden/Sam Tyler, or... some weird combination of the above.

Maybe this is a sign that I have way, way too many fandoms.

(though, Simm!Master/Jackson Lake is a potentially fun idea...)

...no, not the town, the TV series. Which is set in the town.

Well, I'd heard about this series a while ago, and I've finally managed to track down a DVD. Which is in the process of being watched.

And...

Spoilers! )

In short: Blackpool - if you haven't seen it, see it. If you have seen it... see it again?

Oh, my.

The Doctor Who Christmas Special is still... sinking in...

currently all I have to say is FANTASTIC.

(also, I may have cried at the end. And by "may" I mean "did".)

PS. Both Davids (Tennant and Morrissey) were BRILLIANT.

As part of Children in Need this year, the BBC broadcast a sneak peek at this year's Christmas Special.

You know what... maybe David Morrissey would be a good Eleven, having seen this.... *slinks away to ponder*
