Children of Earth: Day One [in which there is much CAPSLOCK and squeeing]

Now, I had doubts about the (much shortened) third season of Torchwood.

But goddamn it, if the rest of the week is as good as today's episode was, um... I may have to start working on forgiving RTD (long story, don't ask).



Okay...

1. Um, when the hell did Gwen get this awesome?

No, seriously. Definite increase in awesomeness there. Also OMGPREGNANTSQUEE!!

2. Ianto. Well, I love him. I do. Him and his random family members.

Also this: "Would now be a good time to tell you I lost the car?" Brilliant.

3. Jack. Waaaaaait, what the fuck, Jack has a DAUGHTER? And a GRANDSON? Well, I guess he had to knock someone up eventually...

his daughter though. I like her. A lot. She's quite badass, actually, and she really (REALLY) knows what Jack's like. I've decided she can stick around for future seasons, just on those grounds.

4. Rhys Williams, you're a bloody genius. I think. Maybe. Probably.

5. Evidently, governments in general are not to be trusted. I think I now have a slight issue regarding blank sheets of paper... may have to work on that.

6. Is it bad that I'm kinda sorry about Dr Rupesh, even though he only got one episode and turned out to be working for the bad guys? (He was pretty, though, and I do have a weakness for the pretty)

and finally... 7. Martha's on honeymoon? SQUEE she and Tom got married! Cool! (Yay for randomly thrown-in references to past stuff)

(PS. No, really, don't trust the government. Creepy bastards, the lot of 'em. And I say this as someone who *works* for the civil service.)
