Doctor Who - "Vincent and the Doctor"
Jun. 5th, 2010 07:39 pmalso to be known as The One Written By Richard Curtis.
(Frankly, I'm surprised Hugh Grant didn't show up, he seems to have been in everything else written by RC ever... still, Bill Nighy instead, that'll do.)
And on the subject of 'celebrity' writers for Who, I'm still more excited that Neil Gaiman is doing an episode for Eleven-season-two. Because... *FLAIL*
Anyways...
This was actually a really good episode. The guy playing Vincent was fabulous... and I kinda ship Amy/Vincent now. I can't decide if that would be RPF or not...
(their kids would have been ULTIMATE GINGERS. What's not to love?)
Um. Much as it pains me to say this, because I'm still busy denying that "Cold Blood" even happened, but... shit, Amy.... though to be fair I feel worse for the Doctor because he remembers what happened, he knows what Amy lost and he's obviously trying extra hard to look after her and be nice to her and she has no idea.
That, and the ending, sort of broke my heart a bit. (Yes, the ending too, even though I *knew* how it was going to end...) In between, though, was glorious, and I am hereby making Vincent an honorary companion. Actually... hmm, there's an AU to be written there. Hey, if the Big Finish people can do it with Mary Shelley, I can with Vincent....
