Some pre-episode Ashes to Ashes thoughts

OK.
I've thought about this a lot. Intensely. I've read other people's theories. While doing this, I have come across the idea that Jim Keats, that morally-ambiguous bastard, is... Death.
I have decided that I like this theory. As of 3x06, it seems to fit. But we'll see...
OTHER THINGS
Ray and Shaz are (in the 'real' world, the 2010 one) dead. Probably Shaz was stabbed and Ray died in a fire. Since their deaths in one world, they've ended up in Gene's world, his own private little copper's limbo that's built on the fantasy of a now-dead naive nineteen year old Manc copper.
Chris and Alex... well, they're almost dead. We know (or we think we do) that Alex is in a coma - though she's probably very close to death at this stage. I think Chris is also lying in a coma somewhere, and he's caught in Gene's limbo.
This, incidentally, is why I think Keats has been paying more attention to Alex and Chris than to Shaz and Ray. In their episodes, we saw him try to influence Shaz and Ray, try to win them over to his side, and we saw him fail. Keats didn't win them over because they're already Gene's. The fates of Chris and Alex still hang in the balance, and that's why Keats is so interested in them.
(Well, I also firmly believe that on some level he's in love with Alex, but that's mostly not relevant.)
Gene... Gene's complicated. He's dead in the 'real' world, for starters. His younger self is haunting Alex as ghost!copper. And the whole world of A2A is built around him. Maybe it's his Purgatory.... but maybe not. Maybe it's his Paradise.
I don't know. And I really can't wait for 9pm to get here...
