The Weinstein Company is looking quite seriously at remaking Hellraiser.

(On the plus side, Clive Barker is still down as Executive Producer, but then there's no news on writer or director yet. Eeep....)

The main problem, though, is that Hellraiser DOES NOT NEED TO BE BE REMADE.

And I, for one, would quite appreciate it if MOST OF BLOODY HOLLYWOOD could get some actual IMAGINATION and CREATIVITY again, instead of churning out a constant bloody stream of a)F***ING REMAKES, b)rubbish franchises *cough*Saw*cough* and c)cliched rom-"coms" (because the comedy part is often SEVERELY LACKING.

See, this is why I watch old movies and TV shows from the 60s/70s/80s. Because THEY ARE ACTUALLY GOOD. (OK, so mostly the TV shows are old scifi/adventure shows from the 60s (Doctor Who, Star Trek: TOS, The Avengers). So? They're still better than half the stuff being produced today.)

The other reason that this fills me with RAGE is that it means SOMEONE ELSE will be directing. Someone NOT Clive Barker. Which is not good, will never be good and should not be permitted to happen. (Me, Barker fangirl? Hell. Yes.) Unfortunately for me, INTERNET RAGE rarely solves anything. But it feels good.
