Um. I saw it. Er... [insert usual spoiler warning here] I hope you're not expecting me to be coherent.
I cried. (actually I have tears in my eyes, like, right now.)
It was perfect.
Yeah, so what, not *everyone* came back. Eh, scheduling conflicts happen. Who cares. Looking at the credits I was reading the names and felt a little *squee* every time there was someone who'd been off the show for a while.
The symmetry, ending with a shot of Jack's eye closing to mirror the first shot of the Pilot, that was perfect. I literally can't think of a better closing shot.
The reunions in Reality-B... kinda broke my heart but in a good way. Shannon and Sayid especially, but Charlie and Claire too.
Also, does no-one else think it's weird that Kate's now delivered the same baby twice? I think that's a bit weird. Oh, and I'm totally feeling vindicated about David being Jack and Juliet's. (they were kinda cute together actually)
...
The explanation for Reality-B totally makes sense to me, by the way.
OK, so that's only because it bears some similarity to the finale of Ashes to Ashes. Quite a lot of similarity, actually. *suspicious look at A2A/Lost writers*
...
Hurley is totally the best person to look after the island. Ben being there to help is awesome.
...
So this is what I think happened afterwards. Jack died on the Island (I'm gonna be wibbly over that for a while). Hurley and Ben did their Island-protecting thing. Rose and Bernard lived out their lives in peace. The Ajira plane managed, just about, to get to civilisation - IDK, maybe Guam, its original destination?
Frank probably retired to the Bahamas and got drunk a lot. Claire was reunited with Aaron, and Kate helped her look after him. James and Kate settled down. Maybe they had to wait a while for Kate to get out of jail, but they were together in the end. Maybe they had a kid, and they named him Jack. Miles... I suppose he made a life somewhere, maybe went into business with James or something. Maybe he's a detective. That would be nice.
Richard.... Richard goes back to Tenerife, finds where his house used to be. By now it's long gone and there's probably a hotel on top of it. So he travels the world, takes his time, and finds somewhere he can be happy. Maybe he meets someone. Maybe he has a family, and dies (finally) in bed, surrounded by grandkids.
As for Desmond, well, Hurley and Ben help him get to Smocke's boat, and they use it to help him get back to Penny and baby Charlie. He lives happily ever after, and dies peacefully, and then there's Reality-B... and we know what happened there.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
...
RB Ben stayed outside the church. I think that's sad, but I can't quite explain why. I think it has something to do with Alex and Danielle.
...
I... have run out of things to say. There might be something to add later. For now I need to think, and cry, and think some more.
