So, I have this routine that I do at the moment for Wednesdays. I watch Lost first, then afterwards I let my brain recover from the confused mush that watching Lost turns it into by watching Glee afterwards.

I kinda needed that this week.

6x14 "The Candidate"

Er. OK. I just got done watching Glee and I still want to go curl up in a ball somewhere and cry. Um. I realise that we're entering The Final Days now, but... frak, that was brutal... I mean, Zombie!Sayid proves that he's not totally in Smocke's thrall by taking the bomb, and then in the freaking aftermath Sun gets trapped in the sinking submarine and Jin just has to be all noble and heroic and refuse to save himself.

It's like Lost-does-Titanic, yes? Only more traumatising.

Um. Other things...

#1. Holy fuck, Smocke scares me. So, um, much, much appreciation to Terry O'Quinn for... everything... and can someone give that man an Emmy already, please?

#2. Jack. I love Jack now. I didn't, in the previous five seasons, but I do now. I think a lot of this is down to the existence of Reality-B Jack, who is even more awesome.

#3. This "candidates" issue... I see it now. Assuming of course that TPTB really have been planning this from the beginning and aren't making shit up as they go... it makes sense that Jack's the Candidate. It could only be Jack, and it's been him from the start, before we'd even heard the name Jacob.

I'm just glad that S6!Jack is so much more awesome than any of the previous seasons. Because Jack now, in season six, almost at the end of this series, is the right guy for the job. Jack in any of the previous seasons was... a work in progress, I guess. He wasn't ready. Now, if we follow that to its logical conclusion... that would mean that everything that's happened to date has been part of some kind of big Make Sure Jack Shephard Is Ready plan going on in the background. From what I've seen of Jacob... that doesn't sound so unlikely...

#4. The Reality-B storyline this week was... one of the sweetest and most tragic yet, I think. It was weird seeing Anthony Cooper like that, seeing as he's always been a bad guy and oh, god, this week I felt so sorry for him. And I liked that Helen was visiting him. That was a nice touch.

So, um. RIP Jin. RIP Sun. RIP Sayid again.

Episode 1x17

SO, kind of a random episode this week... I'll just take this by song, OK?

"Ice Ice Baby": Um. OK. Yeah. Even I, the unashamed Will fan/apologist, found this faintly embarrassing.

(though, hey, anything's better than Jedward. ANYTHING.)

"Can't Touch This": LOL. BACKFIRE.

"Run Joey Run": Had never heard this song before today, so musically, not such a big deal for me. Though, hey, Puck got to sing. More Puck is always good.

"Physical": Huh. Olivia Newton-John looks old. She's aged better than Travolta, mind, but still... eek. But hey, Sue got to sing again, so we're good.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart": Oh, god. Um. I really feel sorry for Rachel. Really.

Other stuff...

-Brittany! Yay!

-Oh, Will, you and your Law and Order reruns... *hugs*

-*blinks* Emma found a spine. With Sue's encouragement. Huh. How 'bout that...

-Oh, Quinn... *hug*

-*snerk* I suspect that "Puckleberry" reference may have been thrown in there for the fandom...

-OK, crazy idea. See, I'm still vainly clinging to Puck/Rachel. There are some obstacles to that, and their names are Jesse and Quinn. (We-ell, maybe not Jesse any more) My solution is that Puck and Rachel get back together and Jesse and Quinn can get together and sympathise with each other. And/or plot revenge, it's a toss-up.
